Riverview is unincorporated Hillsborough County, so county tree rules apply. Common jobs are removing sabal palms and declining oaks, training young trees in newer subdivisions, and dealing with swamp bays killed by laurel wilt along the Alafia River. Trees inside wetlands stay regulated even when the species is exempt.
New neighborhoods and an old river
Much of Riverview has been built in the last few decades, with subdivisions of young street trees and open yards. Older lots sit closer to the Alafia River, where big oaks, bays and cypress grow near the water and wetlands set limits on what can be cut.
We plan Riverview work from our Tampa office, a short run down the interstate.
Riverview's newer neighborhoods also bring HOA approval steps and developer-planted trees that need replacing in kind. We handle the county side and work with the community's list so a removal does not turn into a violation notice later.
From palms to river bays
Open Riverview yards carry many sabal palms, which are usually simple ground-crew removals. Young oaks in newer neighborhoods benefit from structural pruning now, before weak forks grow into storm problems.
Near the river, laurel wilt has been killing swamp bays across the Alafia watershed. Dead bays are brittle and are best taken down promptly, with the wood kept on site or chipped rather than moved as firewood.

County rules in Riverview
Riverview follows unincorporated Hillsborough County's tree rules, with removal permits issued by the county and an arborist affidavit cutting the wait to about five days. Exempt species such as Brazilian pepper and queen palm can come out without a permit, but trees inside a wetland or water body stay regulated, which matters on lots near the Alafia River. We check wetland limits near the river.
